Road Less Travelled

Pavement, long roads travelled often
Across the edges lies the un cutting through
High ways of life keep track of me
But don’t mention I’m elsewhere
Endless in the meaning of all these paths
And somehow lost on every single one of them
My heart has been left with the traces
Of the heavy traffic passing along on a Monday

Close my eyes and feel your embrace
Holding my hand, you lead me through
On these paths, forlorn on every map
Through the forest of memories,
And cutting through every truth unfolded
Somewhere past the oak tree I’ve seen before
This all keeps changing with one constant

Endlessness in every way it’s taken
Along the side lies every memory left
Passing through, past and present
And the future lies ahead in the darkness
The road scatters miles in the distance
Into all the moving possible lines
Your heart has been heavy with them all
Making footsteps in the ground to follow

Close my eyes and I feel your embrace
Holding my hand, you lead me through
Following all these forgotten paths
Lost on every known map
You find a way for the both of us
Somewhere past the oak tree I’ve seen before
Everything keeps changing with one constant

Moving through the bittersweet landscape
Light and dark falls everywhere equally
In some words I lost you, lost myself
Crying bitter tears towards your sweet presence
Insecurity falls on my bare existence, unsure
If what I am is still the wanted mind,
Feeling so small you embrace me
And form words to make me stay the way I am
The road moves on, the crossroads pass by
Trying to lead us into the distance of life
You close your eyes and take my hand
And we both move away from the known path

Close my eyes and I feel your embrace
Taking my head, you take me elsewhere
Creating new paths on these forsaken maps
Somewhere past the oak tree I’ve seen before
Everything keeps changing with one constant
