Sunlight

My silence got lost in the search
Of finding all my words all together
It seems to be holding my universe
And breathing every part of me
In the dark I close my eyes
As it’d make any difference to it all
Through my senses I cling to
What you’ve said to make me stronger

A small light tries to lit up,
And I let it go to burn just a little more
I guess someday it’ll be a new sun

The strength lacks sometimes the fear
To complete a sentence to make sure
Any vein of pain is hidden silently
And to keep the walls just high enough
Blindfolded the fight keeps happening
Until I lower the defence to it all
Through my wars I long to
Hear what you’ve said before to keep me sane

A small light tries to lit up,
And I let it go to burn just a little more
I guess someday it’ll be a new sun

Embraced with a small halo,
And covered in the words I’ve heard so often
But never seem to linger around too long
Does my strength carry them invisibly,
Or do they leave behind a mark in which
I seem to find my strength from time to time
The light burns higher and higher,
Moving from corner to corner and I
Fear sometimes its presence or its destination
Set up against a sky in which the suns have died

A small light tries to lit up,
And I let it go to burn just a little more
It turned into a new sun the day I flew
