When Are You Going To Let Me Down?

A shadow is overhead, clouds form
Until the known sky is lost
In small fragments of illusive thoughts
And I even fear the morning thread
Which seems to spin perfectly in your smile
But I guess a silent flaw
Is nothing to a presence known
With the ability of never being flawless

So when are you going to let me down,
When are you going to break
My wings into fragments I’ve seen before?
When am I going to fall?

Carefully I tread the waters of happiness,
Until my fear grows nearer
To disturb the perfect surface with my feet
The rippled water will sure wake
All that vast darkness I see underneath
Though there should be light, I guess
Lighting the lantern is harder
When fighting with those waters at the same time

So when are you going to let me down,
When are you going to let me fall
Just as hard as I would’ve thought
When am I going to fall?

With clipped wings and a melted heart,
Yours fits sometimes just perfectly
Around my broken edges I left alone
Even across the sky and the waters
Nothing feels so lost and found at the same time

So when are you going to let me down,
When are you going to make me lost
And make me find my own way back?
When are you going to let me down?
