Hypocritical Light

Your wings slowly melt away
And my eyes are just covered with your paint
Deep in the light that once kept you awake
I am wandering to search for you again
Hands entwined, hands open for you
Thoughts fallen
Thoughts left open just again
I failed looking through the mirror
He told me there was something I needed to see
And now with darkness turned his back
Eyes are drawn away from the melting surface
Only time, only time will tell again
But I lay too much around its way of speaking
Believing every inner word again
You said there’d be more, oh there’d be more
You searched the whole sky and found a star
Which clings to your thoughts for so long
It’s its light that has taken you from earth
Waiting again, waiting again

But it sure looks to me
You’re dancing in this hypocritical light,
Faded away from selfish inner darkness
Voices left traces behind on your skin
And my words can not mark your innocence
And my eyes can not see your innocence

Your eyes told me of losing,
It are its hands you have held and will not fade
But even its present will keep you blinded,
When it’s slowly faded from the dark sky
Your thoughts are hanging on
And your words are losing
Wandering between light and the day
Because I though it’d never be darkness and the night
Keeping the guided lights away from your skin
And something yelled I could find the answer
But the question has not been asked
Words form a line, words form more than I see
And again I feel nothing but fear to let it go
From mind towards mind
Oh nothing came across again
You searched the whole sky and found a star
Which clings to your thoughts for too long
It’s its light that has taken you from earth
Waiting again, waiting again

But it sure looks to me
You’re dancing in this hypocritical light,
Faded away from selfish inner darkness
Voices left traces behind on your skin

So here I am, light
What do you want me to do?
I can dance around you
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for another star to burn up
Or are you?
