Never

What if I told you
There’d be more in your eyes than desire
I’ve looked further than you can see
Enclosed this everything with both hands and fear
Not knowing what to feel and to say
It’s just this perfect light that surrounds you,
Deep in the night,
Deep in desire
And will follow this way through the night
Until morning awakes in this ever lasting kiss
Words lay unfolded in your endless way of breathing
As I try to breathe in these lines of pure love

And it will never be less
Never will be, never going to be
Never has been, never was

What if I told you
There was this constant blindness covering up
This constant darkness which led me away
I woke up with the morning light on my face
Not knowing what to feel and to say
Closed my eyes to be with you,
Deep in the light,
Deep in desire
Where no thoughts of losing and fear will come to undo
My hands lay open for all that you had to give,
Just this lightness coming away from my window,
As I try to breathe in these lines of your love

And it will never be less
Never will be, never going to be
Never has been, never was

Encircled by this cold and cold attraction
I once shuddered deep to fall into your embrace
That would only come in this pure forgotten light
To dance around the morning with my feelings
Lost I wandered,
Hopeful I shouted
My echo over the trees, passed by this river of yours
Memories faded slowly from my white mind
As your hands lay on my skin as a mantle over my fears
As you came to hold me, you came to love me

But it will never be less,
This constant morning light,
Never will be, never going to be
Never has been, never was
