Balcony Angel

Stands so high but touch me like you’re here
Close my eyes and fall, won’t you
Lived my life, loved my love until you
Never knew shining brighter was allowed
And I was sure I had made it to the northern lights
Somehow emptiness was coming back and I felt
You filled me with the feelings of longing, of nearness
And I caught all your love, all your time

As I stand here between the thorns of your rose garden
Looking at a faded light there from your room
Voices like gold surrounds the night
Even the dark is now not closer and I would have blind
The thoughts of walking away oh I tried
But your image was keeping on taking me back

And I knew from the first moment you arrived
Heaven had missed so much what lies here
Here down on earth where I am

Something ripped open my heart, shows you
Open spaces that went blank
You can write but can you sing the words
From its heart to set down in me in whiteness
Words that never found a meaning are now speaking
And you filled me with feelings to be near a warm heart
The distance does not hurt miles won’t take

As I stand here between the thorns of your rose garden
Looking up to a life moment passes moment
But when you look down time stands still
Even the light is now not darker and I would have taken
The thoughts of walking away oh I tried
But your fine voice was keeping on taking me back

So I knew from the first second you arrived
Heaven misses an angel from its side
Felt, have seen it here where I am

From this place I watch and I linger
Hearing words played from above like songs
The thorns from your roses cutting deeper
And you still stand so high but touch me
Like you’re so close as the feeling to be near you
