Glass Heart

Caged within the glass heart,
Or with walls I’ve never seen before
Breaking the light whenever it enters
To a million pieces of reality formed
Into a million other dreams I’ve dreamt

Covered with only just a cloak,
As dark as my own invisible pain
It’s only opaque on the outer shell
To make sure the light reflects
Into a million other places I’ve been

As my freedom collapses and collides
With any sense of unreality lying here
I think I flew away before

Held within the silence of my voice,
A reason or even a rhyme to start this
But the movement lies liquid on my skin
To make sure a scar is carved
Into a million pieces of me I’ve known before

Captured in the stillness of my eyes,
The images untold or even lost again
Secretly holding within my forgotten heart
To make sure it’ll be never released
Into a million other secrets I’ve held before

As my freedom collapses and collides
With any sense of unreality lying here
I think I flew away before

Released within all my hours,
Or just the moments I spent here
Trying to free back my freedom
To make sure these wings don’t break
Into a million pieces of glass heart

As my freedom collapses and collides
With any sense of unreality lying here
I flew away before
