Reflections

Wandering along the shores of this forgotten lake,
It should’ve turned into a sea but it never did
As the edges fall nearer its existence I keep
Getting the wrong side of this madness
Until I seem to get past its reflection into something,
Some feeling that caught up on me earlier
The light here falls softer than anywhere else but
It also seems to loose its inner strength quickly
As its core is softer than the burning surface
But I got blinded anyway again

I see my own reflection in this lake,
Never knowing if its in the same dimensions
As my own shadow is this time
Or if it reflects whatever that is truly there
Out of the breaking light I can not see

Washing with the water of this forgotten lake,
Until my tears become the same as its surface
With a given piece the lake takes something from me
My mind resists until it fades to one single thought
No words flow from one side to another as I
Keep searching for the right moments to speak
The heart falls willingly into the waves, getting lost
Reflecting the memories kept in silence, the water
Makes sure they’re anywhere but out of balance
And I got lost anyway again

I see my own reflection in this lake,
Never knowing if its in the same dimensions
As my own shadow is this time
Or if it reflects whatever that is truly there
Out of the breaking light I can not see

In a confused state of my heart I watched
As the lake tried to turn into a vast sea
Getting caught between rivers and shores I stand strong
And let the water wash all over me
But once remained forgotten it seems there’s nothing more
Its existence fell again on its edges,
Leaving the lake there to be

I see my own reflection in this lake,
Setting the illusions or the truth of my image
But the surface is never solid enough to see
Whatever lies beneath what I see
Out of the breaking light there’s no more shadow

I see my own reflection in this lake,
Never knowing if its in the same dimensions
As my own heart is this time
Or if it reflects whatever that is truly there
Out of the breaking light I can not see
But I know no more shadows lie there
