Unsnowflaked

Darkness settles, light fears the embrace
Their entwined hands feel through the day
And silently whisper of a forlorn moment
It seems somehow lingering in wait
As the frozen silence gets through my words
Making the coming sentence just a hush
Light enters, crawls but leaves again silently
Caught, staying with just another kiss

As the ice melts on my veins,
And the snow won’t cover up the heart
As the cold leaves every inch of me
And the lake frozen over turns into a vast sea
How did you turn this winter over?

Loneliness enters, comfort fears the collision
Their combined souls get through every last piece
Of this so called perfect landscape of dreams
It seems somehow lingering in wait
As the reflection of them breaks, shattered
Into every last piece on the cold floor
Comfort settles, stays but leaves violently
And as I make my way through the fallen dark
Caught, staying with just another kiss

As the ice melts on my skin,
And the snow won’t stay in my eyes
As the cold leaves my breath
And the lake frozen over turns into a vast sea
How did you turn this winter over?

With every inch of losing my sentences
Into the light, dark and fearing the same
My hands are frozen and seem unable
To find this all throughout my winter
And as I fall through every snowflake
Caught, but released with just another kiss

As they melt on your lips,
And the ice won’t even come near me
As the cold heart is released
And the lake frozen over turns into a vast sea
How did you turn this winter over?
